I used to work on 36 ... my memory may be faulty. I think there was a code somewhere in the H specification of the RPG program where you could specify that in the event of an unprintable character, it would substitute a blank space ... there might also be something in the OCL PRINTER statement that can do this. How you might be having the problem is if you switched printers from a sophisticated one to a simple one that cannot do the full character set & this report is printing something that the new printer cannot cope with. Another possible cause is if the report is printing the actual data that is out there & what is out there is garbage.
