Open query problem

All,

     I am having a problem with open query whereas I am doing a simple record 
selection and am overriding the file that is being queried to share(*yes), yet 
the only way that I can get the called program (after the opnqryf) to correctly 
recieve the queried file, it to do a CPYFRMQRYF and override to the to-file 
specified in the CPYFRMQRYF.

     Any ideas as to what could be wrong?
