-----Original Message----- one more (and last) time. I still don't know how that ill help me. I arrive at a hotel in Timbuktu, dial up Yahoo (?!) and discover that there are 400 emails from Frederick. At that point, filtering out Frederick may be too late: David has already handled it. The only real solution is to stop this thing at its source (or at least at our list server). ------End original message--------- Leif I agree it should be fixed at the list server, I'm just offering a solution until it is. You arrive at the hotel, dial up Yahoo, get your first page of 20 messages (20 is the default but it can be set at a smaller #), and notice several messages with frederick (or whatever) in the header. You use the search function in Yahoo to show only your messages that don't have Frederick in the header. The search function allows selection based on date so you can also show the messages without frederick since the last time you check your mail. That all takes place on the server and only the results uses bandwidth. There is some overhead due to the fact that you have to go thru Yahoo html pages. I hope this helps, but I'm out of here. David
