Yes, IBM has been pretty good with outfiles; I'd like to take the time to create a comprehensive outfile with both OPM and ILE program/module source information. Unfortunately (paraphrasing a campaign slogan), "It's the customer, stupid!"...actually it's the customer's arm-twisting to get a 40-week project done in 12 weeks. So the most exciting opcode I'll be using for the next couple of months is test(de). It's amazing how fast you can program (or how you can make any project come in on time) when you dial everything into M$ "Project" and adjust your resources. There are seven work days in a week, right? And I can spend half time on the project; the choice of when the twelve hours start is mine. Oh well... -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of rob@dekko.com Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 8:12 AM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: RE: Source/Object mismatch You can always look at it this way. If IBM gave you an outfile, and then changed the format in a future release, some people would complain - even though IBM usually does a pretty good job of letting you know. This way you can use the API's - which are a little more stable - if used correctly. And you might even get better performance versus the outfile. But if you need one - you can create one using the API's - to your format. Too bad we can't get an outfile... -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Scott Mildenberger Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2002 2:36 PM To: 'midrange-l@midrange.com' Subject: RE: Source/Object mismatch Reeve, When you do a CRTBNDRPG the source file info is available via DSPPGM but the module itself is not as it was created in QTEMP.
