I assume you know about OVERFLOW indicator.

Check DDS ... there may be a variable that can feed back info to RPG about
the status of the PRTF.  That's assuming the output is going to a detailed
DDS description as opposed to old fashioned output specifications where you
tell something to space or skip based on indicators or EXCPT conditions.

Eons ago I used to do line counting RPG ... every time print a line or skip
then update the line I was at.  Hated that.
