Mark, Sounds like you have been through a lot. On my 270, I started out on V4R5 and it would not come up. I reviewed the documentation and finally the Memo to Users, which described the problem. I looked at an existing APAR and then simply switched the cable (no card switching) to the modem card rather than the I/O adapter. Worked like a champ, I may have just got lucky. If it would help, I could run through my configuration, card positions, cables, etc. just send me a private note. David Morris >>> Jim.Norbut@Grubb-Ellis.com 01/16/02 11:23AM >>> Yes....I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy....luckily it's our "test" system. But it's been "down" nearly 2 weeks now....and still we have no concrete steps that will fix it. If anyone is using ops console on any machine....I would highly suggest to make Sure that you have IBM involved from the front....before even attempting to go from V4R? to V5R1. They may balk at you...but force the issue....it's better than where I am sitting right now. Either that...or just wait.....until they fix this bug w/ a ptf or a new card or better instructions. Just mention PMR # 66778 when you talk to them...and they will see what a problem this issue really is.
