I have been asked to create an ASCII file with a fixed length format containing CR/LF. I created the physical file and extracted the records needed, then used CPYTOPCD to get the file to a folder in QDLS. The CR/LF is being created by the CPYTOPCD command, however, when the last field is not filled, the CR/LF is put after the last non-blank character in the field instead of after the end of the field length. (i.e. 30 byte field is only being filled with 15 or less bytes, but the target system is expecting the extra spaces before the CR/LF). My question is how can I force the extra spaces at the end of the ASCII record when the field is not full.
