Martin,
Is this what you are looking for?

             CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(YOURLIB/YOURFILE) +
                          TOSTMF('QDLS/YOURDIR/YOURFILE.TXT') +
                          MBROPT(*REPLACE) RCDDLM(*CR) +
                          FLDDLM(X'05') /* TAB = X'05' */

Just beware maximum length of file name (YOURFILE.TXT) is 8 char plus 3 char
extention.

HTH

Norm

Subject: Using cpytoimpf to create a tab delimited file on the IFS

Hi,

Can this be done? I know I can avoid conversion problems by creating an
empty file on the IFS first using notepad. How can I specify a tab as the
delimiter? Do I have to specify a hex code? If so what is it?

TIA

Martin
