If there are 100,000 OS/400 web servers verses 11 and 20 million IIS > and Apache servers, what is the total traffic handled per server? I think the Apache servers are being used for high volume web sites, on Sun servers etc. Microsoft and Netscape both have commerce server web servers, which are not free (I've seen prices up to 20K for the server software). We wouldn't consider running our sites on the AS/400, because we run a lot of software that is NT based - ASP dlls, cgi, etc. The application drives the platform. However, IBm is now getting into the multi-cpu Intel server market. -- Brad Jensen brad@elstore.com President Electronic Storage Corporation Tulsa OK USA 918-664-7276 LaserVault Report Retrieval & Data Mining www.Laservault.com www.eufrates.com - Add distance learning to your site with easy course preparation
