It isn't "separate" from user libraries and licensed programs and documents and streamfiles and user profiles and everything else that can be seen; all of those things are *IN* the IFS. Yes, I wrote a VB program once to list all the objects on the AS/400 thru ODBC. The problem at the time was there was no way to access members beyond the first. I 'm sure they have changed that now, and probably added OLE DB besides.
