Nathan, I've been in the biz since 1972 and at that time all the trade rags called for the death of COBOL. Like they were accurate! (IMHO, if you want a desk top to mainframe, portable, language, write ANSI COBOL) They also called the death of RPG. The same people that shouted "ice age" ten years ago are now shouting "global warming". These same people claimed that ADA was the path to tomorrow.
