You need IBM Poster G325-6328
"Are you saving the right stuff?"
often supplied with each 400 or iSeries (buried in a lot of other stuff)
which color codes what's involved in options 21 22 23 of GO SAVE & GO
RESTORE

You can use the charts many ways

a) what all parts of system exist & are included in which saves?

b) suppose you want to do a save combination other than 21 22 23, which
commands save security, configuration, IBM libraries etc.?

c) suppose you want to restore this or that, it shows relevant commands
such
as
APYJRNCHG, RSTDLO etc.
& what stuff each one restores

> Does the "ENTIRE SYSTEM" option (21) save both system stuff (e.g. usrprf,
> authority, config) as well as system and user libraries?
>
> If, heaven forbid, a restore situation arises, can all of the
appropriate
> commands (e.g. rstaut, rstconfig, rstusrprf, rstlib, rstobj, rstdoc,
etc.)
> be executed from that tape without any extra considerations?
>
> Does option 22, Save System data, perform the equivalent of the old
SAVSYS?
> If not, what option on this menu does?
