On my home PC I have had several tape backup systems, in which I shopped around for what the PC trade press seemed to indicate was good quality stuff ... the hardware seemed to work for me for warranty period plus relatively short time then total failure. So I was interested in looking at alternatives. My current PC support outfit suggested backup to CD because of the pricing & reliability of the media, but when I asked about multi-volume I learned that backup software aimed at CD use has not really been developed yet in the PC world. There was one product from Sony that they had installed at a lot of customers because it showed promise, but they were doing so many service calls to customers where this system broke down that they were looking for something else, but had not yet found anything & were considering writing their own.
