I'm getting somewhere. I just tried to start the Management Central server
thru Op's Nav, and I got the message that 1 of 2 servers was stopped. ANd
then I tried to go into Management central and it came up saying that it
couldn't make the connection. I'll have to wait til this afternoon to take
down the TCP server and restart it. I'll let you know at that time! Thanks
again for all the help!

MaryLou,

Do not change your DNS server address.

Generally I set my name search to *LOCAL, in case I want to override what is
coming from the DNS server, but you should be careful with that because
whoever set it up that way may have had a reason. Changing this would effect
all outbound TCP/IP connections from your AS/400 where a DNS name is used
(as opposed to an IP address).

As Tom recommended, make sure your host table in CFGTCP opt 10 contains and
entry for:

10.60.10.3 ISD43750.INTERBORO.K12.PA.US

 Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'ISD43750'

 Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'INTERBORO.K12.PA.US'

...

Yes, the name of the 400 is ISD43750. The 400 is not "seeable" on th=
e outside, and to connect to it in the district we use 10.60.10.3 . =
Should I change the *remote to the actual 10.60.10.3 number?
