Converting AFP overlay to DDS -- MIDRANGE-L

I am wondering how to create AFP overlays using AFP Utilities and then get
the dds
source for the overlay.
I have created a few overlays using AFP and also have DDS source, I may
be missing something but it does not seem to work that way.
Is there any way I can get this?
