I don't really miss a twinax connection. I've never had a serious problem with Operations Console (no problem that a PC reboot doesn't cure, but that's normal for Windows 95). But I'd have to agree that setting up a new box was a pain. The setup program simply failed. I can't remember the reason. My recent V4R4 to V4R5 upgrade didn't go well, either. Again, the automatic installation procedures failed. The failing SRC code wasn't listed in any of my V4R4 manuals, so I kept re-IPL-ing. I finally looked in the V4R5 Backup and Recovery Guide and found the failing SRC code to be related to the setting QAUTOCFG system value. The pre-installation checklist and verification procedures didn't do their job, apparently. Bottom line. I've been fine without Twinax. But Installation procedures are far from easy! Nathan M.
