Aside from the Software hurdles you have to overcome you may also have hardware issues. You did not mention the hardware you have, but you will have to make sure it is compatible. ------------------------- Bryan Dietz 3X Corporation "York, Albert" <albert.york@nissan To: "'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com'" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> -usa.com> cc: Sent by: Subject: Donwgrading a system from V4R5 to V4R2 midrange-l-admin@mi drange.com 11/20/2001 12:59 PM Please respond to midrange-l I need to downgrade an AS/400 from V4R5 to V4R2. It's not something I want to do but it has to be done. I can save the data libraries and folders to tape, specifying V4R2M0 as the target release and restore them without a problem. However, the RSTCFG and RSTSEC commands don't have that option. What's the best way to save and restore the configurations and user profiles? If necessary, I can change the password to a default one and set it to expired so the user has to change it when he first signs on. All suggestions are welcome. Thank you, Albert York
