Bill, I've followed this thread with great interest...! (Albeit, not too closely.) This is the way it should work...! I've put this thread in a separate folder, so I could re-read the replies later. I've always had an interest in this kind of utility, since I first ran across DBU, back in the early-80's, IIRC. This is obviously JMHO, but I think making the code Open Source is the ***least desirable*** of several alternatives. I firmly believe in the methodology of Extreme Programming (http://www.extremeprogramming.org/). I know, from experience, that this is not just another theory. It does, in actual fact, work. I don't view it as a radical departure from the way good code has been produced in the past, either, BTW. ===> I am offering to help you on your WRKDBF command (pro bono, of course). It is a way for us to explore the concept of Extreme Programming, by way of applying the methodology to a real-world situation. IMV, this is absolutely the best way to learn something, and I want to learn more of the theory behind this concept. I've used it, intuitively, but don't know much about the theory. One of the primary benefits, if you want to take this offer seriously, is that you'd continue to own WRKDBF, both legally and intellectually. As it happens, I have available time to add another iron or two to the fire. But rather than waste everyone's time, I'd like to follow-up (off-list) with more details, if you don't mind. ===> Either way, thanks for the utility...! I think it's a great tool...! jt > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com > [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of > bill.reger@convergys.com > Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2001 3:10 PM > To: Midrange-L@midrange.com > Subject: WRKDBF Enhancement Requests > > > I planning to start another round of enhancements to WRKDBF shortly.
