You should consider doing the disk part of the upgrade in two steps.  Step
one being getting your existing disk units over and step 2 being adding the
new drives.  Once you have a system with known integrity, do a STRASPBAL.
Also note, you still need to do a full system backup before you start the
upgrade process.

It may take alittle longer, but would be the best way to go.  I have done
this on several 5xx-to-7xx per the recommendation of the CE who installed
the hardware.  Never had any problems!

The MES Upgrade Instructions should outline the overall hardware move
sequence of events.  Check them to see what is recommended.
