Tom,

I think there are a lot of people, in both the iSeries Division and the
Server Group, who would like to see the iSeries go "back to the future".

I posted a while back, that the follow-on to the iSeries should be called
the i/38, for that reason. It should run CPF, but re-marketed as the
"Central Processor Foundation". I think that may be a little to i-centric,
though, so probably won't fly...:-( But just in case, IIRC, I reserved a
couple domain names for the iNation to use...

It would be some powerful marketing though, if the i and pSeries were ever
combined. Everyone's heard of the pSeries, or could easily be made aware
the the pSeries = RS/6000 = *nix. The coup would be portraying the
follow-on as unequaled by anything else, because it combines the well-known
pSeries with an unknown, but in a few respects, even superior iSeries.
Like, for example: a command line interface for *nix that is a souped up
version of QCMD. There are still an awful lot of pSeries users who swear by
the command-line interface... And they've never even seen a decent one!
They're kill for one with the F4=prompt capability, don't ya thin...?
