To my mind the issue is whether the > action being considered is any or all of those things. I could have listed unethical examples and I believe you realize that, so I'll leave that part behind. However, there are indeed possible issues especially for managers in public corporations or government agencies. IANAL but... I believe management is legally accountable to stockholders (or citizens as appropriate). It is perfectly conceivable that a business could rely on an iSeries server with minimal interactive CPW. If the day-to-day operations were interrupted due to the application of an _expected_ PTF to a system running Fast400, then business losses could result and those in charge may indeed have to face some kind of misfeasance (possibly malfeasance) charges. The defense of "Hey, we took a chance!" would not likely hold up. Sure, the risk is easily assessible and probably not relevant to many iSeries installations, but it does need to be considered. OTOH, I'd run Fast400 on my own machines with no second thought if I needed it; but I don't, so I'm only in this for the hypothetical exercise. <g> Tom Liotta -- Tom Liotta The PowerTech Group, Inc. 19426 68th Avenue South Kent, WA 98032 Phone 253-872-7788 Fax 253-872-7904 http://www.400Security.com ___________________________________________________ The ALL NEW CS2000 from CompuServe Better!
