The following worked from the command line strqmqry qmqry(qmqry) setvar((LIB '''ROB''')) for this qmqry: select * from dsksum where odlbnm = &LIB Rob Berendt ================== "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin Dan Rasch <drasch@mail.win.or To: Midrange System Mailing List <midrange-l@midrange.com> g> cc: Sent by: Fax to: midrange-l-admin@mi Subject: Passing variables to STRQMQRY drange.com 10/26/2001 08:38 AM Please respond to midrange-l I have tried passing variables to the following QMQRY def, but no luck: UPDATE CSWFLOP SET WFIDCR = &TO WHERE WFIDCR = &FROM using the CL command: STRQMQRY QMQRY(CSWFLOP01) SETVAR(('&TO' 'TDER4') ('&FROM' 'TDER3') which returns the love note: '&TO is not a valid Query Management variable.' so I tried: STRQMQRY QMQRY(CSWFLOP01) SETVAR((TO 'TDER4') (FROM 'TDER3')) with a new message: 'Column TDER4 not in specified tables.' I looked in the archives and found references to adding multiple single quote marks, but again, nada. This cannot be that difficult. What am I missing? Dan Rasch - because if the human species concentrated on the really important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles!
