This printer is not physically connected to a 5250 terminal nor a PC; however, It can be used when running CA/400. Users use it today to print screens and other PC related documents. My goal is to print bar coded reports from the AS400 and this one does it very well. I have my OUTQ defined but the system is not allowing me to create a device for it in anyway I try. This is how I created the OUTQ: Work with Output Queue Description Queue: PAP001 Library: QGPL Status: Writer active . . . . . . . . . . . : N Writer name(s) if active . . . . . . : Output queue held . . . . . . . . . : N Maximum spooled file size: Number of pages . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Starting time . . . . . . . . . . . : Ending time . . . . . . . . . . . . : Writers to autostart . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Display any file . . . . . . . . . . . : *NO Job separators . . . . . . . . . . . . : 0 Operator controlled . . . . . . . . . : *YES Order of files on queue . . . . . . . : *FIFO Data queue . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Authority to check . . . . . . . . . . : *OWNER Remote system . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE User defined option . . . . . . . . . : *NONE User defined object: Object . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *NONE Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Object type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Spooled file ASP . . . . . . . . . . . : *SYSTEM Text description . . . . . . . . . . . : *BLANK TIA. Peter Vidal /***********************************************************************/ A fairly old printer, but one that is supported in a number of ways. The question of the day is "How do you have it connected ???" If it's connected to a 5250 terminal with basic emulation, that's pretty straight forward.(create a devd and use HPT) If it's connected to a pc running CA/400, that's pretty straight forward.(create a devd and use HPT) If it's connected via twinax, it will auto config with no problem.
