Yes. You need to buy a change management system. Even a one-man shop
should be using a change management system (even if it's just an in-house
one).

Failing that you can use the QBNLPGMI (List ILE Program Information),
QBNLMODI (List Module Information), QBNLSPGM (List Service Program
Information), QBNRMODI (Retrieve Module Information), QCLRPGMI (Retrieve
Program Information), and QBNRSPGM (Retrieve Service Program Information)
APIs to determine more than you ever want to know about the objects.

You could also seriously rethink your binding directory design to simplify
building the application. For instance, a single binding directory with all
*SRVPGMs, another binding directory with all service program *MODULEs (used
when building the service programs), and one binding directory with all
program modules and bind-by-copy modules, should simply things. Depending
on how you've designed the application you may find it easier to use one
binding directory per program which contains only the modules used by that
program. You would still keep the service programs in a separate binding
directory.

What you want to achieve is the ability to do:

        CRTSRVPGM SRVPGM(xxx) BNDDIR(srvpgmmod)

        CRTPGM PGM(yyy) BNDDIR(pgmmod srvpgm)

or possibly:

        CRTPGM PGM(zzz) BNDDIR(zzz srvpgm)

However, getting to that stage will take some planning.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
