What is it that you're attempting to accomplish?

Do you want to do "unattended" "restricted state" saves in the middle of
the night? It can be done with relative security. (Hey, everything's
relative, right?)

Here's what I've done. I've got a user profile set up with
INLMNU(*SIGNOFF) and whose initial program is a CL program I wrote that
basically sits in a wait state until a date/time specified in a data
area I created for this. (The program actually checks the data area
every minute or so in case I change the date/time to start sooner.)

When the date/time is reached, the program ends all subsystems and
executes the program associated with Save-21 (SAVSYS, SAVLIB *NONSYS,
SAVDLO, SAV, (others?)).

Since the user profile used to do this must have authorities that you
don't want anyone ('cept yourself, of course) to have access to at a
command line, you must bulletproof this so that someone can't come along
and use the Attn key (or SysReq-3 if you've changed that to WrkJob) to
gain access to the command line. If you secure those, the worst anyone
can do is to cancel your program via SysReq-2, but this will end up
signing off since the profile has INLMNU(*SIGNOFF). You may be alright
if the system console is in a locked room that only you have access to.
Would you happen to be that lucky?

I've got source code if you're interested.
