The point here is that we've had some interesting times with the Duplex mode. When tuning for TCP/IP performance, *FULL duplex gets a great bang for the effort! So YES, YES, YES, set that SWITCH (kill all AS/400 connections using HUBS!)to Full Duplex and set the LIND to *Full. Let your 400 breath!
