This would be great except that I found out this is a Novell server. -----Original Message----- From: Peter Dow [mailto:pcdow@yahoo.com] Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 1:32 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Transferring IFS files to another non-AS400 server Hi Mike, Try using QNTC in the IFS. Any NT servers on the same subnet as the AS/400 should show up in there automagically. If they're not, you can use the make directory command to add them: MKDIR '/QNTC/9.130.67.24' or MKDIR '/QNTC/NTSRV01' Note that when you IPL, these manually created QNTC directories will disappear, so you can either put them in the startup program, or in the program that's doing the file transfer. Once you've done that, the AS400 sees the NT's directories as if they were part of the IFS, and you can simply do a CPYTOSTMF or CPYTOIMPF to put the data in there. Also, you'll need to specify the codepage of 1252 (IIRC). Depending upon which release you're on, you may need a ptf to get the codepage parameter on the CPYTOIMPF command. hth, Peter Dow Dow Software Services, Inc. 909 425-0194 voice 909 425-0196 fax From: "Wills, Mike N.
