Sounds like a complex problem: 1) How do I display the messages when the "Waiting ... " message is displayed 2) Why am I getting the MCH... message 1) I was slathering at the bit to answer the first one, first assuming it was QSYSOPR. Then it becomes a simple (assuming PC and not terminal) Shift-Esc. At the line at the bottom, you can leave blank and press enter and then a menu of choices appear. Once you remember the most popular options you can then type this in at the line and bypass the menu. Shift-Esc 6 is DSPMSG QSYSOPR. Pretty common when doing complete saves which span tapes. (Yes, there are better ways to handle this with *break at certain severities, but haven't you ever forgotten?) Then since it goes to QJOBMSGQ then this requires a couple of sessions. The current session can do a Shift-Esc 3 to look at the joblog. The other session will have to answer the message. Weird that it uses QJOBMSGQ. Sounds like an application with an improperly written generic error handler which finally hit one of those weird situations. 2) There's already been some good suggestions: What changed? But frankly, we'll need more joblog. Rob Berendt ================== A smart person learns from their mistakes, but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes. When this message is received, the session stops accepting input from the keyboard and the job goes into a message wait status where you can't look at the message. The relevant parts of the job log follow: Tried to refer to all or part of an object that no longer exists. Function check. MCH3402 unmonitored by QMHDSEXT at statement *N, instruction X'014A'.
