Oops, you're right.  I had tried it before I sent it, but I just happened to
select records with the valid rrn values.  I tried again against a different
file, and no joy. I had hoped that as an intermediate result set, the rrn
would correspond to the relative position there. :(

somebody has some instructions on programming (rpg)/registering/using
