Thanks for your rapid reply, Pat. DSPOBJAUT <object> does not tell me the authorities required to execute the command. An example of what I need is something like this: For execution of QSYS/COMMAND1 FILE(LIB1/FILE1), user authorities required: *READ on FILE1 *CHANGE on LIB1 *OBJOPR on something-or-other.... You get the point. I found a number of references to the OV issues in the Midrange Archives (it's not that I didn't look), but none of them seemed to lead to a conclusion other than "it's not fair." :) That said, there were 190 hits on pass 1 and I'm still wading through those. OV/400 reamins a problem for any number of people but there are some replacements that a fairly close fit. Stangely enough, certain users are reporting that "certain" pieces of OV/400 continue to work even on V5R1.....
