Nate: How did you start the interface? There should be a start option on the work w/interface panel. If you start it and it does not start, then the errors should be written to the joblog of your interactive job. Setting IP up is pretty straight forward. We still have a 3.7 box at the office and IP was pretty decent as of that release. You need to have a line description defined on the proper resource on your box. Be sure it is cabled correctly to the network. When you vary on the line, it should go to a connect pending status. Be sure you start tcp using the STRTCP command. Also before starting TCP, you must define the interface and assign an IP address to the AS400. From the CFGTCP menu, use option 1. Once the interface is started, you should be able to PING the AS400 from a PC on the same subnet. If you have any specific questions, let me know. cjg Carl J. Tooling around in my V3R7M0 system trying to configure TCP/IP on either ethernet or token-ring interfaces. The hardware seems to be configured correctly, but in CFGTCP, Work with TCP/IP interfaces, I get "Error occurred processing file." Is there any more error detail to tell me what is wrong? thanx nate _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
