Hi, I just bought a "pre-owned" 9402 Model 400 AS/400. According to the seller: The 2130 Processor has a Mfg List price of $8000.00. This machine includes IBM Operating System Software OS/400 license for version 4.3 which is transferable to buyer. The unit power up and starts the IPL sequence. However, part way through booting, I get the following message: The system was unable to determine the system unique identifier, or this prompt was forced from the Dedicated Service Tools Work with System Values menu on the previous IPL. A service action may have been performed requiring entry of a new system unique identifier. Contact IBM immediately and order specify-code 1311 to obtain a new system unique identifier. The following information will be needed to place the order: System serial number . . . . . . . . . . . : S/N XX-XXXXX System type / model . . . . . . . . . . . : 9402 / 400 Does this mean that the software has been wiped from the system? I didn't receive any CDs with the machine. How do I go about ordering the specify-code, and if necessary, a copy of the OS? If I am going to get charged by IBM, I need to have a conversation with the seller. Thanks in advance Mike Madore
