IBM are quite happy 1024b=1kb.
MB, GB and even TB vary between 1000 and 1024 multiples depending on what
they are selling, who's selling it, and the current phase of the moon...
One theme that seems to have gone now is 1024 multiples for memory and
1000 multiples for hard drives.
