Maybe Midrange Computing allowed the Google search engine to index stuff
they didn't.

Google's kind of interesting anyway. From what I read awhile back, Google
ranks web pages by how many links there are to it.  The more links to a
given web page, the higher the ranking for that web page.

For technical searches, I haven't found any better search engine. It even
finds stuff on the Info Center better than the Info Center. If you know
where the site is you're looking for, you can limit a Google search by
entering something like

    searchstring site:ibm.com

or

    searchstring site:microsoft.com

which can really help narrow down the results.
