Let's hope no other problems like this surface! Is V5R1 a stable release? I remember V3R1. That was a real nightmare! I was chasing PTF's week in, week out, some that worked, others that created more problems than they fixed. I had to upgrade the Production box from V2R3 to V3R1. I took the development box to V3R1 first. Made sure that Production was not going to suffer a system being IPL'd every two minutes because of an unstable OS. Took six weeks to iron out all the bugs before we could approve Production going to V3R1 It was a nervous time going from V2R3 to V3R1 due to the knowledge that the backups would be completely useless after applying the PTF for 16Mb extra I/O space. I still don't think they understood the impact that would cause if the upgrade went wrong. Especially, when it was detailed in the risk analysis! Due to this experience, I am going to have Production at V4R5 and test apps on V5R1 for a while.
