I'd set up a parameter like this:

PARM KWD(CPP) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(10) CONSTANT(your-command-name-here)

The parameter won't show if the command is prompted; your generic CPP will
receive the hard-coded command name as a parameter.

Can I still say "hard-coded", or will I get flamed?

It will always be called from a command line.

Can you give me an example of how to use the API?

Thanks,

Albert

        Albert,

If those commands are used from a command line only (thus
interactively)
you can implement the Retrieve Request Message API in the CPP.

For batch processing I was thinking of a constant parameter, but
additional
info from you in another post makes using this method with CRTDUPOBJ
        impossible.

        Regards,

        Carel Teijgeler.
