> Joe, > your world is a bit too narrow. There is more than just RPG out there. No, my world is perfectly sized, Leif: PSC400 WEB-ENABLES LEGACY SYSTEMS WITH NO MANUAL EFFORT. It's all fine to do what you do, it's just not what I set out to do. Comparing our tools is like comparing "apples and orangutans", to quote you. We have two completely different client bases. My clients have tons of real working code, in some cases perhaps a thousand different screens, and they need to get it on the web fast. PSC400 will allow them to do that. My goal for web-enabling was to take any RPG program that uses a display file and automatically convert it to run on the web AND on a green screen, using as pure of HTML as possible. PSC400 is the embodiment of that goal. PSC400 also had other subsidiary goals. HLL independence: the APIs also work for COBOL and CL, although I've only written the automatic conversion for RPG. UI independence: the APIs support thick clients and XML, but I've only written the HTML generation. UI enhancement: the APIs are designed to work with true n-tier servers to provide more intelligent UI controls, but the focus right now is basic emulation. The architecture was written from the ground up to be extensible, so that, as time and demand dictate, I can add any of those other features. But even now, PSC400 has absolutely no peer in automatically generating a pure HTML user interface for legacy applications. Joe Pluta www.plutabrothers.com
