after the backups, delete a few of
your large libraries to make room for the upgrade;  co-ordinate the v4r5 
upgrade with the disk upgrade
(following immediately), then restore the deleted libraries.  This is a more 
difficult approach to manage, and
long hours over a week-end, but it should work.>

That is something I was had considered and was fearing :-) But might be the 
only alternative !
