I don't think you need the Socks client unless your firewall uses socks
for
acess to the net.

Try the iPTF w/out the socks client.

2. Downloaded the Hummingbird Socks Client and run setup (I'm using
Windows

3. I have gone through the Hardware Configuration Setup and Help
http://www.as400service.ibm.com/p_dir/ptfOrdhelp.nsf/4cb99c3c728181b4862

f00482e0b?OpenView

4. I have ensured that the FTP and Host servers are started on the
AS/400
(iSeries?)

5. I have gone to the PTF order log in screen
http://www.as400service.ibm.com/p_dir/ptforder.nsf

6. I have created a new PTF order, submitted, started it, provided my
AS/400
system name, userid and password ...

but

Primary error code 0065 - socket open to retain failed.

I have scoured manuals, the web, loads of searches ... nothing.

Does anyone have an idea what this error code is, or where I can look it
up
?

Kind Regards,
