I am currently preparing an upgrade for a uni processor to a 8xx multi
processor system. I had already determined that I would install DB2 SMP when
the system went to a multi processor system.(no thoughts on requiring LPAR
at the time)

Now I have a changed configuration which will include one managing partition
and three further partitions. One which will have multiple processors, and
the others partial processors all at V5R1.

Would I need DB2 SMP at all?

If so, do I need to install it in to just the managing partition, or what
combination?

Any assistance gratefully appreciated.
