Client Access woes... -- MIDRANGE-L

We are an insurance company which recently have been forced to provide
monthly data covered insured motorist to a state in which we do business,
all defined to their specifications. We have developed the RPG program which
retrieves and displays the data as per their specs, however, when we
download the file from AS/400 to PC, Client Access inserts an additional
space between each field, which we have been notified is unacceptable.
Another required spec that has been a problem, the data must be submitted in
uppercase. Can anyone recommend a means to meet both requirement using
Client Access?
