My guess is that they are able to connect to the internet at a (slightly) higher speed than they can dial into a modem anyway. At least, that's been my experience. That'll be the marginal increase in speed you'll get. But, the savings in all those modems and phone lines would make it worth it to me. Worse, SSL will probably eat most of this margin in overhead, anyway. But, it'd still be worth it (to me). You'll just have to be very serious about security. At least go to Security level 40, look into digital certificates, tighten up on password rules, increase "reuse" period of passwords, decrease qmaxsign, decrease password expiration interval, etc. Maybe even lock Qsecofr to a device, definitely use all the tools in SECTOOLS to check your passwords out.
