Note that Retrieve User Index Attributes (QUSRUIAT) API allows retrieving 
Number of entries added and Number of entries removed. No need to actually 
"count" the entries. Handy shortcut.

(BTW, yours is almost exactly the same sequence I use for a similar user/job 
counting function. Works extremely well.)
