I was torn between letting this die and responding. I've made the wrong choice, but I'm not in a happy mood anyway. <RANT> People use the word "Capitalism" to mean a lot of things, including a quasi-religious belief system. As an economic system it's a way in which scarce resources are allocated through supply, demand, and price tending toward equilibrium. It's amoral in the sense that Newton's laws of motion are amoral. It's not fair, it's not good, it's not bad, it's not anything but a way of allocating scarce resources by allowing supply, demand, and price to move toward equilibrium without imposing outside forces. Sometimes the results are more pleasant than at other times. </RANT> > -----Original Message----- > From: Marshall Akins [mailto:makins@hannasteel.com] > Sent: Monday, July 30, 2001 9:14 AM > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com > Subject: RE: Midrange Computing Closed > > > > Oh give me a break.
