My answer is that SNDDST provides a command interface that can be used to send SMTP mail and it's provided by IBM. I use it regularly. BUT... IMHO, it is _NOT_ the command that _should_ be used. It is merely cheap and easy (once configuration is set). It is almost certainly better to create an e-mailing application around the QtmmSendMail and/or other APIs and build a command to use in place of SNDDST. Examples have been published a number of times if needed. So, it should work fine, but it has limitations and requires specific configuration details.
