Don,

I was talking to a company that we do business with occasionally, and they
have a product you may want to look at.

But first a disclaimer (or a warning ;-) ) - when we refer each other
business our companies exchange finder's fees. So I do have a financial
inventive here. However, that should not get in the way, because I've never
seen the product so I can't recommend or disparage it. It's called
N/Compass. FYI - I'm not sure if it has a POS module.

Anyway, here's the contact info:
URL: http://www.supnet.com/software/software.html
Contact: Christie Smith
               Millenia Technology, Inc.
               (918) 294-8096

Chuck

p.s. I do not envy you - this is always a big task. The most important
lesson I have learned from going through a search process for large software
systems in the past is this: Create a list of important & critical
functionality for each department. Then have the _department_heads_ call
the references and quiz them on how the product performs in these areas. If
IT staff does the reference checking for all of the departments there will
be valuable data that will not be gathered. (I learned the hard way...)
