I also notice this isn't one of the 10K RPM 8.58GB drives (6717) that 
everyone has been having problems with.

Heh. Interesting numbers.

We had a drive fail on a 270 three weeks ago. Here's relevant info from 
the final two related entries in the product activity log. First at 
15:58:55 indicating "Data protection lost" showed:

                      Serial                  Resource
Type      Model       Number                  Name 
6713      070         33-0D10365              DD006

The next at 15:58:56 indicating "Permanent: Addressed device failed to 
respond to selection" showed:

                      Serial                  Resource
Type      Model       Number                  Name 
6713      070         68-0D10365              DD006

Wonder what country that drive came from?
