  • Subject: RE: How to temporarily end and stop ODBC connections ?

From Client Access on the PC and using the Java Toolkit (both over TCP/IP)
you are connecting to the DDM servers if you are doing record level access
(ie OLEDB). Otherwise you are connecting to the *DATABASE Host Server.
Don't just kill QSERVER since the *FILE and NetServer stuff runs there also.
You need to end the *DATABASE host server, End the *DDM servers to prevent
new connections. Then you will need to end all the QZDASOINIT & QZDASSINIT
jobs in QSERVER that are not in a PSRW status to end existing connections.
You can also use NETSTAT *CNN and end all connection with a local port of
as-database.
