I was merely explaining, not justifying!   But I don't see anything particularly
embarrassing about it.  We too claim to have a democracy!  I suspect that, 
whilst
those countries that have such an archaic (or is it just traditional?) system
might question its value, those that do not may wish that they had one.  Anyway,
think of the tourism trade that we get in the UK because we flaunt our heritage.
:-)

We had better not carry on about this off-topic subject too much longer or we
