Hi Pat,

>The "native" solution is a full blown with all the whistles and bells
>and memory IPDS printer.

Ok Pat, gonna have to help me here. I have several *IPDS printers -
4234M12 and another model or 2 from IBM, though nothing near new. What has
that got to do with this? I'm confused.(normal state)

>HPT was never intended for "high volume"
>output. Trying to produce large volumes of info with graphics and
>text using a pc solution is like hunting elephants with a BB gun.

So, are you saying that hpt IS a pc solution? Because it uses the
overlays
created on a pc? Forgive my ignorance - I'm just feeling my way through...

>Extra memory for spool pool will also speed things along.

My spool subsystem isn't faulting and it has 12meg - should I try more?

>You can have fast or cheap but you only get to pick one.

Could you elaborate? Particularly in regard to the ipds printer
mentioned
above?

I have never dabbled in this stuff before and any pointers are much
appreciated.

Regards
Rick

P.S. to Pat : In regards to an earlier discussion, my 3rd dsl provider went
out of business so now I have a t1 from a phone company and a pretty decent
vpn. Are you getting connected?
